While driving we came across an elephant herd. Even though they had calves, they stayed calm. This might have been because the roadway was several feet below where the elephants were and so their perception of the vehicle was different. The calf has just finished nursing. Unlike most quadruped mammals, elephants' have nipples between the forelegs rather than the hind legs.
