Ponta Delgada's older neighborhoods have very decorative sidewalk mosaics. These sidewalks are constructed of pieces of local rock similar in idea to a cobblestone street which you also see exists here. Each road seemed to have a different sidewalk pattern and after a while we gave up trying to identify each one.
